No Reception on your 4DTV receiver?
Here
are some suggestions:
Please
note: If you do not have a familiarity with
electronics or your system, then it is better to call your local dealer
or e-mail us at inquiry@dishsupplies.com
Helpful Tips:
- The first
thing would be to check to see if the LNB on your dish is working
properly. If you take a Digital volt meter and disconnect the C-band
cable from the back of the receiver and measure the voltage (red probe
inside middle of cable insert in back of receiver and blackor ground
probe on threaded area of insert) you should get a voltage between 17
and 21.
- Then check
the voltage at the LNB end (by putting the red probe on the pin and the
black probe on the outer part of the connector) the voltage should be
about the same give or take .5 volts. If you do not have close to the
same voltage then there is a poblem with the satellite cable.
- Your LNB
could be damaged (or drifted), if you have access to a functional LNB
then try it on your dish to see if it is an LNB problem.
- If you are
certain it is not your LNB then there is only your receiver left. This
does not mean your receiver is defective. It may just need to be
unplugged (the maps within the receiver could be mixed up). If the
receiver still does not work then the last resort is a master reset.
This should only be done if you know how to reprogram your receiver. At
this point you should call your dealer because a master reset also
deactivates the programming on the receiver so you would need a rehit
after programming the receiver has been complete.
- If the
problem still persist then the receiver is probably defective and would
have to be replaced. Either way your local dealer should be consulted.
